035 | Avengers + S.H.I.E.L.D. Servers
I'm taking a long weekend for my and Dane's birthdays the holiday. I'm signing off after my in house shift tomorrow at HQ and will be back for a late shift on Wednesday (04/27).

I'll still be plugged in but don't expect any answers to texts or emails unless they're marked URGENT. (And by "URGENT" I mean "end of the world" type stuff.)

Cheers.

There, see, giving notice isn't so hard

We'll hold down the fort, Agent Drew.

I completely trust that you will. I still doubt you really have a life outside of S.H.I.E.L.D., vacation not withstanding.

Woah, Agent Drew - you have a life outside all of this?

No, I'm really a LMD. I'm due for servicing-- hence the time off.

Don't say that too loud, Pym might hear you and try and rewire your guts.

Well, that would certainly be a change from him hating my guts.

I'm not too worried. (Super-strength and all that.)

Ohh, right.

Who said I'm going anywhere?

Mostly because you said you'd be back.

Unless you meant you'd be "Bach". In which case, I'd say, "Interesting, but I prefer Mozart, or the dog who made all those kids movies until he went deaf, and then had to compose music by taking the legs off a piano and putting his ear against the floor when he played."

Well, yes, from my time off. But that doesn't require my physically going anywhere.

Bach? Dogs? I don't get it. Stupid pop culture references.

But I'm not working. That's what "time off" is. Time off from work.

Also, that is really fucking annoying. Please don't do it again. Or I may be forced to hit you. Hard.

I'm just saying, that's why I was assuming you were going somewhere; you're too interesting to be dull.

Don't tell me you haven't seen (or read) The Shining? Avengers movie night!

So, what-- you don't think New York City is an interesting place to spend time when you're not working?

And, no, I've neither read nor seen The Shining. Just another in the long list of misses from my lack of childhood.

Oh, no - I know New York City is an interesting place to spend time in. Best damn city in the whole world.

Let's just forget I tried to ask a non-work related friendly question.

Heads up - I'm asking another: Do you like scary movies?

Now here, I would normally make a joke about how I'm not a crazy psycho-killer in a ghoul mask, but I'm betting you probably haven't seen Scream either, so I'll leave it alone.

If so, The Shining is a classic, although Shelley Duvall is annoying, and the book is better, but it's Jack Nicholson at his best. When you get back, we should get the others together and watch it. I think I might even own it somewhere. If not, I'm sure Carli does... can I ask her that?

Look at that - an entire e-mail, and I hardly made one joke! Will wonders never cease!

I don't hate them. Enough of my life is like a scary movie already.

And, no, I haven't seen Scream.

But I suppose a movie night could be considered team building.

Scream is also good. Almost a parody, but not quite.

Alright! Movie night! It'll be great, you'll see. Definitely team building. We can all sit around and laugh at how dumb Shelley Duvall is and talk about what we would have done instead of what they did.

It's superhero schadenfreude!

If you say so. I'll think about scheduling something with Cap, then.
